Privacy

In short: what you type stays in your browser. The only things saved are an unlock flag if you pay, and your letterhead if you ask it to be remembered, both on your own device.

What you type

The calculator and letters run entirely in your browser, using the JavaScript on this page. The amounts, dates, names and letter text you enter are never sent to us or to anyone else, and they are not saved. When you close or reload the page, they are gone.

What is stored

At most two items, both in your browser’s local storage on this device, and only when you choose:

Neither item is ever sent anywhere. To remove both, clear this site’s data in your browser settings.

What is not used

The page’s security policy also stops it loading scripts, fonts or images from other sites, and stops it sending what you type to any server.

Payment

If you pay to unlock letters 2 and 3, you pay on Stripe’s website, not this one. Stripe handles your card details under the Stripe privacy policy. As the seller, we receive the payment record from Stripe, such as your name, email address and the amount paid. We never see your card number, and a payment is not linked to anything you typed into the calculator.

Hosting

The company that hosts these files may keep standard request logs, such as IP address, browser type and the page requested, as any website host does. Those logs cannot include what you type, because it never leaves your browser.

Your browser’s own features

Your browser may offer to remember form entries and fill them in later. That is a feature of your browser, it stays on your device, and you can turn it off in your browser settings.

Who we are and your rights

The seller named on your Stripe receipt runs this site and is responsible for the payment details Stripe passes on. We use them only to provide what you bought and to keep the business records the law requires, which we keep for six years. The lawful bases are the contract with you and our legal obligations.

You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
